Pursuing Theatre

The Performing Arts is an art form that has been around for a long time but has not gained worldwide recognition till recently. The various acts put together for the entertainment of noblemen during the Renaissance could be attributed as influences and early versions of modern performance art.

In the 1960s, artists like Yoko Ono and Hermann Nitsch heralded performances that would combine basic elements such as space and body. They referred to their work as happenings. It was during this time that performance art was finally able to surface to the mainstream and become recognized.

The Performing Arts have three main categories – dance, music, and theatre. Of this three, it is the latter that is perhaps the most popular.

Nowadays, there are plenty of avenues for those who aspire to take part in theatre companies. Schools that are solely dedicated to teaching and expounding on this art form are increasing. Major courses like creative writing, dance, drama, visual art, and vocal music are common offerings. This will enable potential students to improve their existing talents and acquire other skills that will be essential during auditions.
